Fall Festival at Hanger KafeThe Fall Festival at Hangar Kafe took place on October 26, 2024, and it was packed with fun from start to finish — vendor booths, skydivers, plane rides, and plenty of good vibes. In this post, I’ll share a bit about the Hangar Kafe itself and show you some of my favorite photos from the day, shot on both 35mm film and digital. The weather couldn’t have been better, and it made for a perfect day to soak up the sights, sounds, and skies.
The Hangar Kafe is a cozy little restaurant with its own runway, tucked away in Lawrence County, Missouri. You can fly in or just drive up for a bite — either way, you're in for a treat. The food is delicious, and the folks there make you feel right at home. They’ve got everything from sandwiches and burgers to crispy chicken tenders. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or an early dinner, it’s a great spot to relax and enjoy the view.

Sky Divers coming in for a landing.
One of the coolest things you can do at the Hangar Kafe is give skydiving a try. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned pro, they’ve got everything you need to take the leap — literally! To the right are a few shots I captured of the skydivers coming in for a smooth landing after a successful jump. It’s exciting just to watch... though I’m still working up the nerve to try it myself!

The planes that flew in for the festival.
There were quite a few planes that flew in to enjoy the food and fun at the Hangar Kafe that day. It was like a mini airshow, with all kinds of styles and types on display — from vintage classics to sleek modern designs. I had my Nikon D3 with me and couldn’t resist snapping a few shots. Here are some of my favorite photos from the day!.

RC Planes took to the skies.
Even the RC planes got their time to shine in the sunlight. They zipped around like tiny pros, catching the attention of just about everyone. To the right are a few photos I snapped of one RC plane and its pilot, who looked like he was having just as much fun as the folks flying the real ones. It’s always cool to see how much joy these little planes bring — big fun in a small package!

Natures Pilots.
Even a natural pilot showed up and took in some of the sights for the day. He was born to fly and hopefully wasn’t critiquing the other pilots too badly.
That’s a Wrap — See You in the Skies!
Thanks for coming along as I shared a little piece of the Fall Festival at Hangar Kafe. It was one of those days that leaves you smiling long after it’s over — good food, friendly faces, and a whole lot of love for aviation. Whether you’re a pilot, a plane enthusiast, or just someone who enjoys a fun day out, the Hangar Kafe is definitely worth the visit. Until next time, keep looking up!
